Napali Coast Tour

While staying in your Kauai Vacation Rental, let Kimmy arrange for you to see the unparalleled beauty of the Napali. This 16 mile stretch of rugged coastline on the northwest shore of Kauai literally means "The Cliffs". Much of the Na Pali Coast is inaccessible due to its characteristic sheer cliffs that drop straight down, thousands of feet into the ocean.

Sailing, rafting, kayaking and hiking are the best ways to experience Napali's myriad of natural wonders. This is most certainly, a must-do Kauai activity.

Another way to see the Napali is to take a guided kayak tour leaving from Haena State Park. For those who seek a more physical adventure, this is an exciting way to get up close to waterfalls and caves.

Kayak to a waterfall on the Wailua River or combine your Hanalei River kayak adventure with a snorkel alongside the abundant marine life.

“A stunning, memorable experience (with dolphins)”

Reviewed August 16, 2014

We gave a lot of thought to how we’d spend a last precious day in Kauai.
After looking at lots of options, we chose Captain Sundown Snorkel Sail. We wanted to slow time down, so our holiday would not end. We wanted to be close to the beautiful ocean, and to witness more of the unique scenery of Kauai. The day turned out to be a stunning, memorable experience for our family. Even those that are not natural sailors were pleased that they came along. Once the sails were up, the trip along the exquisite coastline was sublime and peaceful. We couldn’t believe our good fortune in being joined by dolphins, which the Captain masterfully followed for some while. It was breathtaking!

We snorkeled, we encountered shoals of beautiful triggerfish and parrotfish and rasse, and we climbed back on board to devour some very welcome pastrami/ turkey rolls and cans of cold guava juice. A bonus for those with Go-Pros attached to their arms was to have lumps of bread thrown into the ocean by our comrades on deck, a lure which drew shoals of derangedly hungry fish into the camera lens for some spectacular footage.

On the return journey we navigated closer to the shore, taking in more of the coastline: caves, waterfalls, and the ever-changing light on the remote valleys and peaks of the incredible Na Pali coastline. You've never seen anything like these shaggy green hills and stark volcanic crags. There's a freshly stunning, heart- and sky-piercing, waterfall-cascading eminence of greeny-purply-black, rocky beauty around every headland.

This part of the voyage was enjoyed by children and adults alike, not just for the landscape but for the riding the bounding main, taking turns lying on the trampoline-like nets at the front of the boat. Riding over, and bouncing through the waves, getting thoroughly soaked, was better than any water park they had ever been to. Great, great fun.

The Captain and his first mate Dave pointed out all the landmarks of the island, and were happy to answer any of our questions; but they were not in the least bit intrusive on our family day out. One of the joys of this trip was that it was not crowded, like some of the other boats that passed us by. The snorkeling equipment provided on the boat was good, and we had a wonderful time swimming with the fish and turtles.

Thank you Captain Bob -- we’ll be back.

“Best Day Ever”

Reviewed December 19, 2014

This was the highlight of our Kauai vacation. We were staying in a House Of Dreams Kauai property and Kimmy from Kauai Ventures suggested this was the one adventure not to miss. So off the 10 of us went on what was a most memorable day. The weather was perfect, the seas were calm and the views were incredible. The boat had lots of space and we especially enjoyed lying on the netting in the front of the catamaran. On the return trip, we had a pod of Spinner Dolphins put on a display for almost an hour. They swam alongside the boat and underneath the netting. At one point you could just about reach down and touch them. The boat captain was charming and knowledgable and pointed out lots of attractions as we sailed the beautiful Napali Coastline. We saw turtles, waterfalls and rainbows. Midway, we stopped for an hour snorkel and lunch which was also quite enjoyable. Thank you so much for the Best Day Ever!!!

“Treat yourself to a Napali Sail”

Reviewed August 15, 2014

As east coast land lovers, our family's trepidation about sailing and snorkeling was quickly forgotten. Upon our friendly greeting from Captain Bob and his first mate David, the convenience of setting sail from the north shore was key to us and having a limited number of guests on the boat allowed for ample room and movement on the boat during the sail--key for picture taking and safety. We sailed dreamily through the breathtaking landscapes and lost count of the number of waterfalls and coves in the vast, towering loft of mountains. Our captain's sailing expertise and knowledge of the waters gave us complete confidence to take our first snorkeling excursion on the "high seas". We experienced turtles, dolphins, and exotic fish first hand. Captain Bob's clear instructions were greatly appreciated and my ravenous sons' appetites were satiated by a fulfilling sandwich meal. The ride was fun, eventful, and memorable. A must do for all!
